Tile Launcher Brings Windows 8 Style Start screen to Android

Do you like Windows 8’s Start screen and at the same time do you own an Android device? Not to bother, here’s an application called “Tile Launcher”, that can bring Windows 8 style Start screen tiles to Android. Tile Launcher is a Jelly Bean based app; currently a BETA version that mimics the interface of a Windows Phone. Upon installing, the app brings the shortcuts as big titles on your Home screen with the option to customize them according to your liking. It also allows user to change the background of the tiles, rename and adjust the elements on the screen to provide space for additional tiles.

The app comes with few themes – Holo Dark and Light that lets you to switch the background color of the application. In order to resize, delete or personalize a tile, you just need to long press the tile. You can use the wrench button to change the settings of the icon, tiles and the background color. The transparency level can be adjusted using the slide between the left and right. To change the wallpaper, you just long press anywhere on the Home screen. When you are done, just tap to apply the changes.
