Microsoft to end the life of Windows Messenger Live in March

It’s all over for Microsoft’s Windows Messenger Live, as it is approaching the end by the month of March this year. According to the reports from Microsoft, the company has decided to end its instant messaging client to promote Skype – Skype was acquired by Microsoft in October, 2011. The company has already started to send the information to its users as below,

Hello,
On 15th March 2013 we are retiring the existing Messenger service globally (except for mainland China where Messenger will continue to be available) and bringing the great features of Messenger and Skype together. Update to Skype and sign in using a Microsoft Account (same as your Messenger ID) and all your Messenger contacts will be at your fingertips. You’ll be able to instant message and video chat with them just like before, and also discover new ways of staying in touch with Skype on your mobile and tablet.
Yours sincerely,
The Messenger Team

Skype has already tested the application, that allows users to sign-in using Windows Live ID. Once users migrated from Windows messenger to Skype, they can enjoy Instant messaging, video calling, Landline calling, sharing screens & many of its cool features…
