Google shows Public Alerts on Maps and Search

Now the Google search and maps will show the warnings for natural disasters  and emergency situations. The feature was announced by Google on its official blog post, which promises to show “relevant weather, safety information and earthquake alerts” from the U.S. National Weather Service and the U.S. Geographical Survey.

The information will be available in Jellybean version of Android and on Google Maps for Android. Of course, these alerts are seen on web browsers when you search in Google.

The “Public Alerts” feature will also provide information about the evacuation routes, shelter locations and crisis maps. According to the reports from Google, the information will only be available in U.S English and will be soon expanded to other languages.
