Make gadgets “Green” – Environmental watchdog Greenpeace

“Sell us gadgets, that are evironmental safe”, most of the consumers demand for this. Its a good sign !, but How about consumer electronics industry?, asks environmental watchdog Greenpeace.
Environmental watchdog Greenpeace held a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Friday to announce results to declare their survey results called “Green Electronics: the Search Continues.”

The good news that revealed was, most of the manufactures are using less hazardous chemicals, such as PVC plastic, and are running more electronic take-back programs. Very recently Nokia announced its take-back program. As companies have made increasingly stronger commitments to eliminate toxic chemicals, increase their products’ energy efficiency, and improve their recycling efforts by embracing financial responsibility for their electronic waste, Greenpeace has sought to comprehensively assess the state of green products coming into the global marketplace, even looking beyond its initial criteria in the Guide to Greener Electronics.
These progresses are positive approach towards developing “Green Tech”, but the consumer electronics industry can go a lot further to make gadgets “green.”, says Environmental watchdog.
