LG GW820 eXpo Mobile Phone, the heavy duty phone from LG that is a 3G device that uses a spruce interface with a 1 GHz Snapdragon QSD8250 processor working under its hood and promises to deliver beyond a normal Windows Mobile powered handset. 2G networks include GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 / GSM 850 and 3G networks include HSDPA 850 / HSDPA 1900 / HSDPA 2100. The OS supported is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. It is currently available in black shade.

The design reveals a slider form factor and includes an internal antenna. Its design does well to conceal the QWERTY keyboard provided. This light weight mobile phone is provided with a length of 114.0mm, width of 56.0 mm and height of 15.0 mm. It has got a refreshing narrow look. The phone attributes its compactness partly to the 3.2” TFT resistive touch screen that retains a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels with support for 16 million colours. The QWERTY keyboard is designed with rectangular buttons.

The memory is provided a decent allocation with space for storing various files and programs. If the memory needs to be expanded, it can be done so by supplementing the phone memory with microSD cards up to 16GB in capacity. This huge memory facilitates the model with practically unlimited phonebook entries and call records. The networking capabilities are quite enormous with so many wireless technologies included. These include high speed HSDPA (7.2 Mbps) for optimum 3G solutions, GPRS (Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots) @ 32 – 48 kbps), EDGE (Class 10@ 236.8 kbps), WLAN, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth (v 2.1 with A2DP). Users can browse internet using WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML browser. The 5-megapixel auto-focusing camera enables the users to take instant photos once the phone auto-focuses on an image. The optional LG Mobile Projector makes this 3G handset one of the few available phones to offer such functionality. Its functionality increases by many folds with its Smart Sensor fingerprint recognition.

This handset is priced at $199.99 after mail-in rebate, with a two-year contract agreement from AT&T on a minimum $69.99 plan. The LG Mobile Projector is expected to be priced at $179.99.
