Microsoft eyes on Wearable Gadget? Patent says ‘Yes they are’!

Microsoft has not been keen in developing a wearable tech, but the case is different now. According to the patent filed by the company in 2012 that was granted this week, a smartwatch is on the way. The patent was accompanied by diagrams and explanations of a sensor laden device, which aims to measure the biometric parameter (yes, a Samsung Galaxy S5 like heart rate monitor). The diagrams also shows the smartwatch displaying fitness app, a touch screen display and a communication interface to support data transfer to external devices.

According to the reports, the company has planned to design its own hardware for the smartwatch (just like the way Surface was designed).

The smartwatch can be charged via a dock, similar to Galaxy Gear. The display can be rotated to 90 degrees while attached to the dock to act as a stand.

At present, we don’t have enough information about the release date of the smartwatch.
