AdBlock is an add-on for web browsers that can disable ads on your websites. Well, it may be an effective and useful tool for the users. But for publishers?!

It could be a disease which is lowering your payments. Eventually a blogger comes to a no-profit point when all users start blocking ads! But how to stop this?

Identify if Major Users have blocked Ads

Well, there is no straight forward way of finding this out. One way to track this is by checking the ratio of your traffic : Ad Impressions. If this is low, okay, come to a conclusion that your ads are never displayed. Next best thing you can do is to redirecting a user with ad-block or put up a specific image in that place. Just by tracking the number of  re-directions or views you can get a better picture.

How to react to ad-blocks?

If you have come to a conclusion that many of your users are blocking ads, then you might want to react to them, but how?

The best approach may be to go for a premium model. Say you might want to ask the users to signup for a monthly fee, to get the content. This time, you can provide them with an ad-free experience. There is no issue of non-displayed ads here, as you are never going to put them on your website.

The next approach can be to lock them out of the website for having adblock installed. This is a bit rude and if you have a good traffic of users, you might lose them for such an action.

The last thing is what most of the bloggers do. Keep searching for alternative ways to bypass adblock!
