Is Symbian really dead? Nokia announces 1100 like Phone – Nokia 515

Updated on January 2, 2014

At the midst of all big smartphones,  Nokia is riding back to old fashioned mobile handset. The company is back again to manufacture non touch based mobile phone; Nokia 515. The device features 5 megapixel camera and other basic features. The whole phone package comes with only a wall mounted charger and a microphone which has no volume rocker controls on it. I don’t know if people in Nokia are very dumb or extremely smart.

This might prove Nokia to be bit adamant and a bit like Apple. Adamant because, Nokia still believes it to be a best seller in the mobile market. Yes, it was once. A bit like Apple because, Nokia is still following the same ideals that Apple followed for its iPhone series; claiming to have a speedier processor without much change to the model. It was acceptable in the transition from 3G to 3GS, but not any more.

These specifications are really old school, but are really a wish-come-true for most aged citizens and for those who love old Nokia models. This is rather a phone out of its place, but Nokia is rather unique in every way possible. This is one of its feats which may have an unthinkable outcome. And finally you know what? Symbian just did not die, even when it is officially announced to be dead.
