Seriously, People who say Google Maps is best – Likely haven’t used Scout!

Updated on September 1, 2017

The best thing according to me which is given by this smartphone generation is the GPS Navigation facility. Be the Google maps on Android or Apple Maps on iPhone, they have become the part of smartphone with supreme importance. To make your navigation experience even better, we are going to discuss about an app called Scout from Telenav. This app helps you to detect the traffic on your route, it includes website syncing and in overall gives you better route calculation.

What’s New in Scout?

It is very difficult for any GPS Navigation app to settle in the market because of the old big gun i.e. Google Map. To make its mark, there should be something special and Scout offers the list for events, point of interest by location, website syncing and most importantly the traffic coverage. The traffic coverage is awesome on both freeways and surface streets. The map looks similar to Google Maps, offering top-down view and a perspective view as soon as you start the route to commute.

Key Features

  • The bottom of the home screen has 4 icons in a row, namely: Home, Explore, Recent and Likes.
  • It also offers the option of saving various destinations in the Likes icon and allows you to browse multiple routes effectively.
  • The basic Scout App is free, but for downloading maps, you have to pay a fee of $4.99 per month or $24.99 per year. This will allow you to download maps for offline navigation as well.

The app is available for all platforms, as we said the basic app is free and can be downloaded easily from various stores. Here are the links to make your navigation even easier:-

Final Word

The Scout app is awesome and it has lot to offer compared to the Google Maps. It comes with the features of storing destinations, traffic coverage, multiple routes and many. But, there are certain drawbacks too, the app has bugs and it creates errors in between route and has only car-route available; there is a lack of public transit and bicycle routes. Give Scout a try and let me know your feedback.
