Tata Motors brings out their Best for Zest compact Sedan – Specs & Pictures!

One of the earliest upcoming launches we may currently witness is the Tata Zest – the one car which all Tata loyalists and industry veterans have been waiting for with bated breaths. Slated for a July launch, there are reports that numerous Tata Motors dealerships have already received demo units of the Zest. Having witnessed this new sedan from the House of Tata earlier this year at the Delhi Auto Expo, we are sure that the two new entrants from Tata (Zest & Bolt) this year are bound to create some deep reverberations in this market segment. Moreover, the vehicles have extremely high expectations riding on them, primarily by their parent company of course.

Aggressive and Stylish Front design

While taking a complete departure from their generic designing norms, Tata has completely reinvented their outlook for this segment by making this sub-4-meter sedan looks highly appealing on first look which appears to be curvaceous in all the right places! The front, especially, has been aggressively and stylishly designed. To illustrate this fact, one has to look at the dynamically designed headlight cluster with projector lamps and the turn indicators.

New Grille, LED Lights…

The new radiator grille, adorned with a thick chrome-plated strip and the company logo, is a welcome new replacement/addition. This new design fervour seems to have rubbed off on a variety of other components too – like the front bumper with LED lights along the round fog lights and the side profile with body-color painted ORVM caps to name a few.

Decent Wheelbase, 44L fuel tank…

Tata Motors has revealed quite a few details with regards to the imminent launch of this spectacularly attractive and spacious new sedan. The length measures 3995 mm while the width and height stand at 1695mm and 1570mm respectively. The wheelbase too is claimed to be a pretty decent 2470 mm. It shall also sport a 44L fuel storage capacity and be able to carry a payload capacity of 425 kg.

Spacious Cabin

It appears that Tata has gone all-out to woo customers – especially in this department! While the company has not disclosed any information regarding the comfort features that shall come with the vehicle, it is widespread that the cabin exudes an air of spaciousness coupled with a dash (or a tad more) of elegancy. Passengers are offered a sublime experience vis-à-vis the great leg, headroom and shoulder space combined with the premium beige and black dual tone inside the cabin.

The vehicle may be equipped, according to sources, with an audio acoustic system with in-built navigation (courtesy a tie-up with MapMyIndia) as well. Last, but not the least, the sources also claim that the company shall include a Harman Kardon infotainment system coupled with an 5 inch touchscreen display.

Petrol and Design Variants and its Performance…

Zest will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol version will be powered by a newly developed turbocharged 1.2 L, 4-cylinder Revotron engine under the hood, which can churn out a max power output of about 83.83 bhp at 5000 RPM and a peak torque of 140 Nm at 1750-3000 RPM. This petrol variant is married to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox that delivers the power to the front wheels.

The diesel model, on the other hand, will come with a 1.3 litre Quadrajet motor, which is capable of generating a max of about 88.73 bhp of power at 4000 RPM and a max torque of 200 Nm at 1750-3000 RPM. This engine shall be proffered in conjunction with a first-in-class F-tronic technology enabled 5-speed automated manual transmission gearbox that enables the engine to deliver a flawless performance.

Finally, Tata Zest to cost 5.5 Lakh to 7 Lakh

With this possibly being one of the best designs to have ever come from the House of Tata, this exotically and aerodynamically well-designed car seems all set to turn the fortune of Tata Motors India! The vehicle is expected to price between INR 5.5 Lakh and 7.0 Lakh.
