Many people dedicate their patriotic lives to military service. At a very young age, they begin to train and join the army. When they have to come back to civilian life due to retirement or other reasons, they have to face tremendous difficulties. Firstly, they have little knowledge of the civilian routine life, what’s trending, what’s going on. They have little idea about the career options they have after their service. And they cannot communicate efficiently with people. They have trouble with relating to common feelings, situations and characteristics of civilian people.

There are a few Apps that allow these people to look for jobs that suit their knowledge and skills. There are few Apps to help them gain knowledge about what’s going on. Together Strong is an App developed to make social life easier for the veterans and service people.

An integration of virtual humans and gaming technology is used in Together Strong to generate scenarios and role-play conversations in the civilian life. Personal problems, grief, stress, work and such topics are used. According to the developers, the app uses “extensive research in neuroscience, social cognition, and psychology”, as well as input from service members and veterans, to make the virtual conversations highly realistic.

Together Strong is available for free in App Store as well as Google Play. It’s more of a game than a utility, so we can call the users as players. The players are subject to certain scenarios. They have to choose actions and comments in the communication with other automatically generated characters. Based on what is chosen, they receive instant feedback. The practice that this App provides can help them a lot. There has been a good deal of positive feedback from veterans and service members who have used this App.
