Garden of Eden is what Edyn promises!

When Stephen Hawkins prophesied of an impending era where Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other technology would take charge and enslave us all, I laughed it off thinking the man must be seeing a lot of experiments-gone-bad movies off late.

Yes, technology to a lot of extent has penetrated into our lives and to make do without it would be beyond anyone’s wildest imagination in this day and age. Like imagine a day without mobile phones, refrigerators, microwaves, chimneys, cars, iPods and then some. Sounds like an ideal vacation spot where you can play Flintstone? But, we all know this for a fact that a life without technology would cripple human race. Bottom line- we heavily rely on tech!

Therefore, Hawkins must be given the benefit of doubt as we would indeed be ruled by evil tech in the near future. Technology isn’t making things easy, it is officially taking over. For instance, meet Edyn which would take over your garden and would not need much of your skills.

Edyn for gardening
Smart gardening

Edyn is a dual hardware pack which would make your garden bloom in no time. The hardware pack consists of –Edyn Garden Sensor and Edyn Water Valve. That’s more of plumbing and less of technology. It is technology if the two pieces sync with an app on your phone and keep you updated about your garden.

The sensor would sense (of course!) the soil condition, humidity, temperature and all the other science which go into plantation and blink right on your smart phone’s screen. It doesn’t stop at that. If you want to grow lilies (roses, bougainvillea or cabbage for that matter) it will evaluate the condition around and would let you know how smart a move it is.

Edyn relays the message in one's phone screen

Then, it seasonally or regularly (depending on the region of your residence) guides you about fertilizers and the kind and quantity which would keep your plants healthy and happy right through the year.

What does the valve do?  The usual, it waters; the unusual, it waters at the tap on your phone’s screen. And it stops without a tap. It knows how much water your plants thirst for and would quench accordingly, without the hassle of over or under watering.

And when it states ‘garden’ it means garden, any garden-rooftop, hilltop, on the ground, backyard, front yard, kitchen garden, flower garden, organic garden, Edyn takes care of all types of garden.

So, if you craved for a well-kept, ever-blooming garden all your life, order  Edyn. You will receive your order somewhere around this time next year. Next year? Here’s the truth- Edyn is a component of a campaign named Kickstarter started by Edyn’s father Jason Aramburu (an ecologist). Customers after initially donating would be sent the hardware from the first batch of production which would only be possible next year. Take a look at the below gif, which explains better on how Edyn works.

But why? The backers need an assurance, a substantial assurance. An assurance of $100,000! So, how much each has to donate? $100 in the US and a lot more than that oversees.

So, is it worth giving a shot? People are giving it a shot, that’s all I can say. It is smart, innovative, a tad bit expensive, but promising nonetheless. If you have a garden (or, dream to have one) and by no means are green-fingered, then donate today and own Edyn a year later.
