Honda FCX – A car that emits h2o that we can drink!

“Water, water, everywhere, but not a drop to drink!” But it’s not just the sea water surrounding us that is unfit to drink, even domestic water is contaminated to a great extent. I must also add a sequel phrase to that famous saying “Air, air, everywhere, but only dust is there to breathe!” To tackle both air and water pollution simultaneously has been the dream of various organizations and ecologist teams. And recently, Honda’s dream as well.

The FCX Clarity vehicle by Honda doesn’t run on the conventional petrol or diesel or anything that emits polluted air, or even air for that matter. It runs on compressed hydrogen. So, what does this emit? It emits water, pure water that could be drunk just out of it, Honda claims proudly.

honda car gives water h2o

To promote this vehicle and to advertise this idea, the Australian team of this automotive company have devised their own brand of water, that no automotive companies have done so far, called H2O. This brand of water was distributed for free in Australian theaters for the sake of promotion.

In the video below, you can see a lot of stuff written on the bottle. The label reads: “Delicious, fresh H2O from a pristine mineral spring, cool mountain glacier or … the exhaust pipe of the Honda FCX. The world’s first hydrogen-powered car that emits only water. Water so clean and pure, you could put it in a bottle and drink it. Now isn’t that refreshing?

If you really think all these come from the exhaust of the FCX car, you’re wrong. If you think of it, it’s kind of impossible to fill all the hundreds of bottles with cars that are currently being sold only in California, Japan and the UK. With just a few cars of this model in existence, only an enormous amount of driving can produce all the water for these hundreds of bottles.  Honda admits, “if you’re holding a bottle of our specially produced H2O water in your hand right now, you’ve been drinking plain old spring water. If you want to taste the real thing, you’ll have to travel to California, Japan or the UK where the FCX is currently available.

But in any case, whether this water comes out of a silencer of a car or from fresh springs, it signifies the importance of growth of technology that’s environment friendly.
