Samsung launches Galaxy Grand running Android Jelly Bean in India
In the line of successful Galaxy models, Samsung launches another smartphone called “Galaxy Grand”. Galaxy Grand features 1.2 GHz dual core processor, Smart dual SIM and will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 21,500 in India, that will come with a free flip cover and Rs. 8000 worth of movies & music plus 50GB of storage space on Dropbox. The most interesting feature of the Galaxy Grand is the Smart Dual SIM, which will allow users to select different mobile billing plans for either SIM and lets users to switch between them to make most of the call and data plans.
The Galaxy Grand was launched by Asim Warsi, Samsung’s vise president and he quoted “I feel the Galaxy Grand will further fuel the growth of the Smartphone market in India and will especially delight consumers looking for a great Smart Dual SIM phone.”
Galaxy Grand comes with famous features like Smart Stay – feature that prevents the device from going to standby mode, while it detects the user’s eye using the front facing camera. Direct call, which automatically makes a call when the user positions the phone near to his ear. Smart Alert, which lists the missed events such as missed calls and new messages just by picking up the phone. Popup play will let the users to enjoy movies in a separate popup window anywhere in the screen while performing any other task. S-Voice feature will allow the user to control the phone using their voice. Face & Voice Unlock lets users to lock and unlock the phone using the face or voice recognition.
The smartphone will also come with a pre-loaded ChatOn; Samsung’s cross platform communication service and instant messaging. The other apps that will be pre-loaded are “Game Hub” and “My Services” – which will include services like myMovies, myMusic, myMobileTV, myEducation, myStation and myReader.
The myMovies service will provide users with an access to thousands of Indian movies, trailers and songs. While the myMusic will let them download and listen to 2,50,000 songs and myReader takes them to vast amount of Indian newspapers, magazines and more than 30,000 books. The user can also watch more than 100 live TV channels using the myMobileTV service.
Well, considering the wide range of features, Samsung Galaxy Grand really worth the price (Rs. 21,500).
