LG to unveil 105-inch curved UHD TV – 105UB9 [ CES 2014 ]

LG announced that it will be showcasing its 21:9 aspect ratio CURVED ULTRA HD TV (Model 105UB9) and the WebOS powered TV at the the International Consumer Electronics Show 2014 (CES) in Las Vegas. LG claims its 105UB9 to be “largest curved TV ever made.” This television will feature a massive LCD panel with a resolution of 5120 x 2160 which LG is billing as a “CinemaScope” screen. The 105UB9 will have great structural integrity and deliver uniform color and brightness across the curved screen enabling the user to experience immerse viewing from any angle. The uneven backlighting is corrected by refining the  Thin Film Transistor (TFT) pixel circuit technology.

In-kyu Lee, Vice President and head of the Home Entertainment Company’s TV division at LG Electronics says, “Claiming the world’s first and the world’s largest titles, LG’s 105UB9 employs cutting-edge technology to provide a truly unique viewing experience. We will continue to drive the next generation TV market and demonstrate that with LG, it’s all possible.”

Samsung has just announced that they also have a 105-inch curved UHD TV to display at the CES. We have to wait till Jan to see them in action!
