This Mammoth 3D Printer can Print Objects up to 12 by 12 by 18 inches Tall

Could you imagine a 3D printer that can print an object up to 12 by 12 by 18 inches tall? Makerbot says it’s simple and we are showing it how at Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Chief Executive Bre Pettis removed a black overlay and do you know what was inside? A big 3D printer, the Replicator Z18 for printing tall objects up to 12 by 12 by 18 inches high. “If you’ve been hampered with how big you can make things, then no more”, told Pettis during the press conference. Pettis also announced industrial strength printer along with Replicator prosumer machine and Replicator Mini. It means, Makerbot has something for everyone in CES 2014; which is not about to get a 3D printer, but which Makerbot printer you are going to buy.

According to the reports, the Replicator Mini is expected to cost $1,399 and the new Replicator would cost around $2,899 and big Z18 will be priced at $6,499. Pettis showed the Mini’s one touch feature, WiFi connectivity and the camera. The printer also has a “smart extruder” which snaps to the device magnetically.

Makerbot also announced MakerWare printing software and few apps for iOS devices. The company released Makerbot digital store, where customers can buy high quality products or design made by experts. Pettis showed off an example, where a collection named Chunky Trucks; a set of toys construction vehicles and workers.

In the partnership aspect, Makerbot joined hands with SoftKinetic (3D sensor company), but the deal is not known.
