Samsung Galaxy S5 to be launched with Iris Scanner?

VP at Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S5 should be released by April 2014. Lee Young Hee, who is the VP of the mobile division has given us some detail on the latest flagship device. Samsung is having the same strategy that it followed for the S4 in which it announced the device in March and released the device in April. This means that the MWC going to be held in Barcelona will not see any flagship phones from Samsung.

As the S5 is to go against the iPhone 5S and the soon to be released iPhone 6, the company is deciding on a fingerprint sensor and also an iris scanner. This just seems to be a speculation. As the S4 was not up to much reception from the masses due to the same old boring design which was rather copied from the strategy by Apple, people didn’t buy the device and resulted in a huge loss to Samsung even though it had so many features which were unwanted. The S4 was the first Octa core processor phone in later times, but it was found to be a gimmick and not all 8 cores were working at a time. The S5 might sport a brand new design which is also one of its key features. This is what the VP had to say.

“When we moved to S4 from S3, it’s partly true that consumers couldn’t really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasn’t as big. For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it’s about the display and the feel of the cover”

Samsung is said to be working on a Galaxy Note 3 successor and it is said to feature three sided display. The Galaxy Gear is also said to be replaced by another device which is less bulky and concentrates more on health. Much similar to the Nike+iPod combination that apple got out a long back.

Samsung sure is fighting its way back to the top, but will this suffice? Only time will tell.
