Windows Phone 8.1 to feature new Game Hub and HERE Maps

Windows Phone 8.1 rumors are up again and this time, we see closely the new UI of the Game Hub and a very much appreciated HERE Maps. Not only these two, but a glimpse of Cortana is also seen.

Windows Phone 8.1 is in development as of now and we don’t know whether these features will hit the final build but it would be good if that were to happen. We got to hear about on screen buttons as well as a in built file manager based on the suggestions on the WP suggestion box.

As seen from the image below, the new game hub features the latest Xbox logo and the titles are listed as on a Xbox console. The neat arrangement and some of the avatar customization can be seen. The Game Hub now occupies the full screen and is now green compared to the older grey color of the UI which gave it a dull look. The new App also advertises Smartglass integration for better syncing of your trophies to your Xbox Live and Xbox console.

The changes in Maps are relatively small and retain the same UI. But the three on screen buttons which stay on the screen are removed and an always on search bar is present making it easier to navigate.

Here is a render of the virtual assistant Cortana. The video is rather fan made and doesn’t give any detail.  This may not be the final version. Expect more!
