Volkswagen introduced its new Passat CC “Four door coupe” for 2009. It design based on Mercedez Benz CLS.
“Over an inch longer and 1.5 inches wider than the passat sedan, with a height of over 2 inches lower create for much sleeker appearance”. The Passat CC features VW’s Dynamic Drive control (DDC) adjustable suspension with “Normal”, “sport” and “Comfort” modes. DDC also reacts to acceleration, braking and steering inputs. The latest tech trend in the market is the Lane assist and Automatic Distance control (ACC), which Passat CC also features with a radar-based cruise control system to regulate the distance from cars ahead. ACC automatically brakes and accelerates within a speed range input by the car driver beforehead.
Lane Assist is the new high tech feature technology, which will automatically steer the car back into its lane if there is a slight drift out slightly. This feature works via a camera in the vicinity of the inside mirror.
Passat CC comes in two variants of engine choice. The first is a 2.0 liter TSI diesel delivering 200 hp at 5100 rpm and 206 pound-feet of torque starting form 1800 rpm. Passat CC can be reached 62mph in 7.6 seconds with this choice.
The second and a more powerful is a 3.6 litre gasoline V6 FSI, with 300 hp at 6600 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2500 rpm. This variant can reach a 62 mph in 6.6 seconds.
