Targus Touch Pen can turn your Windows 8 desktop into touchscreen device

CES, Las Vegas – Targus, the company known for making accessories has come up with a Touch Pen that can turn your Windows 8 desktop or a laptop into a touch screen device. The product was announced in CES, Las Vegas, which helps you to make use of the entire Windows 8’s touch facility without the need of purchasing the touch-screen PC.

Windows 8 was announced in last October, which allows users to swipe, slide and access all the windows features using your fingers. But the touch facilities works only on WP8 Smartphones or touch-enabled PC/Laptop. An accessory from Targus comes with a receiver and a Touch Pen that can allow anyone using Windows 8 on older hardware to experience the touch features of the operating system.

How does it work?

A small receiver will be attached to the side of the laptop screen and that communicates with the Targus Touch Pen through a cable and via USB port. The user uses the Touch Pen instead of a finger and the screen is protected with the stylus soft tip.

Note: You can’t use your finger.

Interesting part of the Touch Pen is, it doesn’t require any drivers or software to be installed, but the one-time calibration is needed to set up the device to determine the measurements of the screen. Targus works with any computer whose monitor size up to 17 inches.
