Adobe updates flash & advices on Acrobat

The software gaint Adobe released updates for Flash and advices on Acrobat. During the end of february month, Adobe warned its users about vulnerability in Adobe Flash and Acrobat. Adobe named those vulnerability as critical.  Adobe published on Tuesday an update to fix flaws in its ubiquitous Flash software and published a list to protect against attacks targeting Acrobat and Reader.

Adobe suggested temporary solution to this critical bug in Flash. Steven Adairm, security researcher advices that users disable javascript on their computer, if they use adobe reader or adobe acrobat. And added that, disabling javascript would definetely prevent the malware from being installed on the system.

“Disabling JavaScript provides protection against currently known attacks,” Adobe’s Product Security Incident Response Team said in the post on its blog. “However, the vulnerability is not in the scripting engine and, therefore, disabling JavaScript does not eliminate all risk.”

Adobe recommends all users of Adobe Flash Player 10.0.12.36 and earlier versions upgrade to the newest version 10.0.22.87 by downloading it from the Player Download Center, or by using the auto-update mechanism within the product when prompted.

Adobe also named its update as critical.  “Adobe categorizes this as a critical update and recommends affected users upgrade to version 10.0.22.87.

Adobe plans to release a software patch on March 11 to close the door on attacks against the flaw in Acrobat and Reader.
