Sony unveils Classic White PS3 HDD

Sony has decided to go classic and it will start offering a white PS3 Slim in Japan only for the moment, while the rest of the world should get it in the near future. The PS3 Slim Classic White release date is July 29th, and it will be available with a 160GB HDD, while the black version of the PS3 Slim will be sold as a 320GB version.

classic_white_ps3_slimAt first we believed that the PS3 Slim white will be released with a 320GB HDD, too, but Sony cleared up the mess for us. Sony won’t continue to manufacture the 120GB and 250GB version of the charcoal black PS3 Slim so hurry up and buy one of them while you still can. Sony just announced a “classic white” PS3 Slim (as opposed to the “ceramic white” original) for Japan, model CECH-2500, coming July 29th with 160GB HDD. For 34,980 yen (about $400 translated to US currency) you can now start off with 320GB of storage in your “charcoal black” model — not to worry, the aforementioned 160GB still retails for 29,980 yen ($342).
