AMD and Cryptek partner to give the Mantle Engine: A graphics API

Who knows the full form of AMD here? I don’t even see a few hands raising. Well, the full form is Advanced Micro Devices. It is an American company which produces microprocessors and is a semi conductor company based in Sunnyvale, California, United States. Cryptek is a game developer which has produced the Crysis and the Far Cry franchise.

The Mantle Engine was launched last year by AMD and gives better access to the PC hardware. At the time of launch, AMD partnered with DICE and the engine came preinstalled with Battlefield 4. The New engine helps in streamlining between the CPU and the GPU. Here is what Ritche Corpus, director of ISV gaming had to say.

Cry engine

"AMD is delighted to bring Mantle support to the enormous of audience of gamers and game developers reached by CryTek's CryEngine. Together, AMD and CryTek are forging a path for the graphics industry that better utilizes gamers' advanced AMD GPUs through closer to the metal API design."

Cevat Yerli, the Founder, CEO and President of CryTek commented the following.

"CryTek prides itself on enabling CryEngine with the latest, improved and most impressive rendering capabilities. By Integrating AMDs new Mantle API, CryEngine will gain a dimension of 'lower level' hardware access that enables extra-ordinary efficiency, performance, and hardware control."

This will help in increased graphics rendering and will be the future of gaming. The revolution is beginning now towards a realistic gaming experience. Game on!
