Archos announces a tablet and 3 smartphones in advance [MWC 2014]
MWC is fast approaching and Archos is not being silent. It has announced and has leaked three smartphones and a tablet. The names of the tablet are based on gases and elements in the periodic table. Archos is an electronics company which produced media players and now is in the smartphone business. Archos literally means Ruler or master.
Archos 50c Oxygen
It is a dual SIM variant of the 50 Oxygen. It comes with an octa core processor and replaces the quad core of the original Oxygen. It is also slimmer as compared to the original- 7 mm to 9 mm. It comes with Cortex A7 processor, clocked at 1.7GHz, mali 450 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is a 5″ 720p IPS LCD display on board and also a 8MP camera. This device should cost about 200 Euros.
Archos 80 Helium 4G
The Helium 4G is an 8″ LTE supporting Tablet. It comes with a 4:3 1024×768 pixel resolution and quad core Snapdragon which are actually specs of yester year Androids. The tab also comes with 8GB of storage but compensates that with microSD card slot. It has a 5MP shooter on the back which can shoot 1080p videos and the battery stands at 3500 mAh and comes in a 10.5mm slim body. It costs 230 Euros.
Archos Xenon 64
The Archos Xenon comes with a 6.4″ screen in competition to the Sony Xperia Z Ultra which has a 6.44″ screen. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 720p display resolution, MediaTek chipset which is quad core, an 8MP camera which can record 1080p videos and 3G connectivity. The on board storage is 4GB but the microSD slot makes up for it. It is in no way match for the Xperia ZU Tab which is in a range itself. It costs 200 Euros.
Archos Titanium 40b
As per the naming schedule of Archos, the model name follows a number which when divided by 10 will give the screen size. The Titanium 40b is similar to the 40 Titanium but is rather the dual SIM variant. All the features are the same as compared to the Titanium. It comes with 4″ WVGA screen, dual core processor, TFT screen, a 5MP camera with LED. But the only difference is in the battery which is a 1400mAh as compared to the 1500mAh of the single variant. It costs 99 Euros.
