Detroit motor show announced – Watch out for news about the timeline [ NAIAS 2014 ]
North American International Auto show is the biggest event and Detroit has hosted the show for over a century. And history repeats itself! The public show of the NAIAS will happen during January 18-26, 2014.
Many esteemed cars and their face lifts are to be presented here. Lets see in pictures some of the major companies which are showcasing their vehicles at the show!
AUDI
The new Audi has a futuristic improved design with a redesigned Tailgate. This gives a new generation of Audi Q models.
BMW
BMW 2 series coupe
The replacement for 1 series coupe comes as 2 series coupe which will be in its form from this Detroit show 2014. The new BMW series naming goes as the sedan models will be named with odd series and the coupe series with even series. There are various engines ranging from 218d to top M235i.
BMW M3 and M4
The sedan M3 and coupe M4 will be shown in this show for first time. They have a 3.0 litre twin turbo straight six producing 425bhp and have choice for the buyers between six speed manual and seven speed DTC automatic transmission.
Facelift of BMW X1
The facelifted BMW X1 will be sold in UK from march which comes with changed exteriors and lightly changed interiors.
BMW Z4
Though not a new one, the Z4 comes with a upgradable interior packages with an exotic fusion design. The new leather, wood and alongside paint works gives a classy look.
Chevrolet
Chevrolet Corvette 206
This car will have its first time at the Detroit car show. It will start its production late in 2014 and will be released in early 2015.
Chrysler
Chrysler 200 Sedan
This car will replace the old Sebring model and is featured with ‘Tigershark’ four cylinder and one of its famous 3.6 litre v6 Pentastar engines.
Hyundai
Hyundai NEW Sedan
Detroit will see the next generation Genesis for the first time. But Hyundai did not confirm the production of this car in UK as it is the first time production of right hand drive vehicle using 2.0 design language.
Infiniti
Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge
F1 style is ready to be on road. This Q50 is to facilitate relationship between Infiniti and Red bull F1 team. It has added aerodynamic bodywork and new technology features inside.
Lexus
Lexus RC F Concept
This car is expected to be the F version of the RC concept model which was earlier present in Tokyo. The car is expected to satisfy the customer needs with the expectation for Lexus models.
Mercedes-Benz
Benz Class C
Mercedes is expected to officially reveal its Global Bestseller in Detroit show for the first time. It is featured with a 100kg reduced weight and more efficient engine.
Mercedes Benz-GLA
The was announced earlier in this year as Shangai which will be in production version in Detroit this year. It will be available in both front and four wheel in some markets.
Mercedes Benz S600
S600 is expected to be powered by 5.5 litre v12 engine developing around 530bhp when it is on sale in 2014. This same engine when in 6.0 litre form will have s65 AMG Flagship.
Mini
Mini JCW concept
This is based on the hatchback concept and expected to be powered with 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine. Although the car is proposed as a concept by Mini, it is surely expected to hit the production.
Toyota
New Supra Concept
Although not officially announced by the firm, it is guessed from various source that supra concept is to be shown. This concept is designed by Toyota’s Calty Studio which had many vehicles for Lexus, Scion and Toyota in past but not with this Supra concept.
Volvo
Volvo XC Crossover SUV concept
Although it is just proposed as a concept, XC will strong hints of a new design which is to be implemented on the new XC90 this year. The firm proudly say that these kind of vehicles are the backbone of their range and and the concept involves more design for future.
