Audi’s Next Gen Sedan – The new 2015 Audi A8

It’s mean, dynamic, and sportier than the previous models of its class. Yes, I’m talking about the 2015 Audi’s A8 flagship and the super sporty S8. A package of comfort, incredible fuel efficiency, ultimate performance, and the remarkably dynamic and bold looks. The excellent creases, and surfaces along with the easy maneuverability make this completely redesigned flagship a tough competitor for the Merc-Benz & BMW sedans.

This larger than ever fleet is turning a lot of heads. With the new front wheel hybrid being an addition to the next year’s model line and also the extended length models providing larger leg room for rear seats.

Body Design and Interior

The latest restyling has not done much good to the A8 models, the facelift makes it look even more technical whereas the new S8 looks even sportier, the lowered ride height and sporty bumper makes it stand out of the crowd. New bumper and grille detailing goes along with the new headlight design, and the awkward panel creases where the front and rear bumpers meet the fenders is much improved.

The Matrix lighting system runs LEDs for both the high and low. Manually select-able high and low beams are joined by a dynamic and adaptive setting which manages forward lighting without any driver input. Similar to automatic high-beams that come on and off by themselves based on road and traffic conditions, the Matrix system can also dim certain LEDs to avoid blinding on-coming traffic allowing drivers to leave high beam permanently on.

The cabin is still the most luxurious. Audi now offers more options including ventilation and massage functions on upcoming models. Electrically adjustable, individual rear seats with footrest, massage and recline features available as an option across the range. Multi-zone climate control and long cushions good for lankier passengers are features  that might just be cause to get someone else to do the driving.

Park Assist System with a 360 degree display. The a-la –carte menu of choices for customisable feature is pretty extensive in this lineup, ranging from adaptive air suspension, sports differential to 19 inch alloy wheels, allowing the driver to modify the car as per his needs. Some of the optional features include a navigation system with SiriusXM Traffic, a 14-speaker, 630-watt Bose AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM/HD Radio Surround Sound System, Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, a sunroof, a power rear sunshade, power rear side window shades, four-zone automatic climate control.

Engine Updates

Audi has made countless revisions to the current-gen A8’s engine lineup, so it’s no surprise that the updated sedan will arrive with a more powerful V-8. And no, it will not come from the automaker’s RS division. Instead, the mid-range, 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 diesel gets a few more horses to help set it further apart from the available six-cylinder mills, expressing Audi’s love for diesel.

But aside from the V-8’s slight power bump, a new LED lighting system, and more safety tech, the 2015 A8 is modestly updated.
