Archos releases three Smart Watches at CES 2014
Smart watches are now becoming a trend and every manufacturer whether they have a phone or not, need to release a smartwatch to show off. A company called Archos has released three smart watches and the cheapest of them all is priced at $50.
Out of the three models, the manufacturer showed a model with a curved, e-ink touchscreen that also comes with Aluminium casing. It can also stand for one and a half days without a hiccup and can serve Android and iOS for new notifications (texts, calls, emails) and also music playback.
The three versions come in price ranges of $50, $100 and $130 respectively. Going from cheap to expensive, the base model uses the e-ink technology and can display only black and white. The display is smaller clocked at 1.55″ and have a standby up to two weeks.
The medium version comes with 1.8″ color LCD screen which is not the e-ink type and rather comes with backlight. This watch can stand for only two days and will require more time in the charging port than in your wrists. The release dates and the features are not known at the moment. To my opinion, going with medium version might not be a good choice, as it is very power hungry. People can opt for the lower base model as it is very cheap and consumes less power.
