Compact Flash Card – CFast 500 Memory is Fast

If you just can’t transfer your data fast enough to make your life run smoothly, you may have a problem that a professional can help you with.  However, if you’re just looking for the best and the fastest memory cars around, CFast can help.  CFast cards are essentially Compact Flash storage devices that have been revved up to eleven.

This new generation of storage runs SATA interfaces and leaves the traditional UDMA/IDE interfaces in the dust.  You can expect to see transfers speeds topping 108MB per second with these bad boys and they’re available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16Gb versions for all of your data storage needs.

Transcend, the manufacturer of these new wonders, opted  for a “trickle-down” release meaning that corporations are going to get their hands on these before you will but it shouldn’t be too long before you see these popping up in your local Best Buy. There’s no word on price but with the significant jump in transfer speeds, you can expect a significant jump on the price tag.  Still, time will tell if this CFast trend is the next best thing or just a speed bump in the road of progress.
