C-MAX Solar Energi Concept by Ford – Powered by the Sun [CES 2014]

You need not depend on power outlets or charging stations for fuel any more says Ford, pointing to its new concept car, which will be entirely be powered by the sun. This C-MAX Solar Energi Concept by Ford, which will be displayed at CES 2014, in Las Vegas.

The car comes with a solar panel roof,  manufactured by SunPower, which has a concentrator lens, to absorb the sunlight to fuel the car. With full-charge the car can have the same total range as that of Ford’s conventional C-MAX Energi (620 miles, with 21 electric-only miles). The car also houses a charge port and can be charged at a station.

Although this is a concept car and may never come out for commercial use any sooner, the idea stands good enough to be implemented in future cars to follow green technology!
