Nikon announces 800mm telephoto that costs US$17,899.95

CP+ JAPAN – Well, would you buy a lens that costs US dollars 17,899.95? Nikon announced 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR, which is the longest lens of its kind and will feature a teleconverter that takes the focal length to an incredible 1000mm with the maximum aperture up to f/7.1 (while using teleconverter). According to the reports, the lens was designed for full frame (FX) Nikon cameras, but it can be easily used on a DX (crop-sensor) Nikon SLR cameras as well. The lens was announced during the CP+ Camera and Photo Imging Show 2013 in Japan.
