Electric Vehicles / Cars: Coulomb Building Free Vehicle Charging Stations Across America

So you’ve been dreaming about buying that completely electric, zero-emissions vehicle for a while now but the availability of charging stations is too narrow to make that feasible.  After all, who wants an electric car you can’t drive?  All that is about to change. Coulomb Technologies will be building over 4,000 charging stations across the United States in the near future, and you can get one for your house—free!

coloumbeHow?  If you purchase a Chevy Volt, one of Ford’s new Electric Vehicles, or the Tesla version of the Smart car, you qualify to get one of these puppies up and running in your backyard for free.  The US government has made $15 million dollars available to make Electronic Cars a feasible reality and that cash will pay for your shiny new charging station. What won’t be free though is the electricity.  All you need to do is build a windmill in your backyard or a solar panel farm on your rooftop though and you’re on your way to total non-reliance on petroleum products.  Good news really in light of the BP disaster.

Right now, this program is only available in selected areas but it’s prepped to go nationwide soon.
