Facebook taking another step to get closer to us: Connectivity Lab
Facebook’s new entry into the virtual world occurred sometime ago this month when Facebook decided to purchase Oculus, a 3D gaming and virtual reality startup with $2 Billion. Meanwhile, in the real world, Facebook has also got closer into everyone’s social lives by acquiring WhatsApp this year. But Zuckerberg has just begun his show. The social media giant now is planning to get involved in another very fancy and significant project- Internet.org
The new Connectivity Lab is unveiled, which is consistes of a special team whose mission is to design the aerospace and communication components behind Internet.org. Doing this will bring Internet access to almost everyone on the planet. The staff of this lab are the same engineers who were in Facebook’s infrastructure team and the Open Compute Project.
