According to the release notes (Release Notes 2.0.156.1) hosted on Google Chromium Developement Documentation,

  •  New version of WebKit. WebKit is the open source code Google Chrome uses to render web pages.
  •  Form autocomplete.  As like any other web browser in the market.
  •  Import bookmarks from Google Bookmarks.
  •  New network code.  Earlier they were using winHTTP library from Windows.
  •  New window frames on Windows XP and Vista.

and there are many other features, which you can get from Chrome Documentation.

Moreover, Google wants releases more often with fewer features, instead of waiting for an year for newer release.
