iPad compatible iSense 3D scanner from 3D systems unveiled [CES 2014]

3D systems a leading provider of 3D content-to-print solutions introduced its popular Sense 3D scanner an iPad version called the iSense. The iSense is ideal for physical photography, allowing users to easily scan objects in three-dimensions in real-time, without placing the object into a box as required with other 3D scanners! iSense device comes as an attachable to iPad, with which they can walk around and scan entire objects or environments obtaining a photorealistic copy of the real thing. Powered by structure sensor technology created by Occipital for 3D systems, iSense comes with the same software as 3DS’ popular Sense scanner.

iSense fully integrates with the Cube family of consumer and prosumer 3D printers. After the object scanning, you can directly upload to Cubify.com for cloud printing.

Engadget published on in-depth review of Sense Scanner which is a predecessor of iSense found interesting for 3D modelers and game developers, but being expensive.

iSense priced at $499, will be available during the 2nd quater of 2014 on Cubify.com and in worldwide retail stores. Below video is a glimpse of original Sense 3D scanner, the predecessor of iSense!!
