LA Auto Show 2012 to feature rare Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, electric vehicles, and more
The Los Angeles Auto Show began in 1907 with ninety-nine vehicles on display at Morley’s Skating Rink. The LA Auto Show is an annual auto show held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in late November/early December.The LA Auto Show is an OICA sanctioned international exhibition and also endorsed by the Greater Los Angeles New Car Dealers Association.
The 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show will be held from November 30 through December 9, 2012 (press preview days from Nov. 28-29, followed by public days Nov. 30 through Dec. 19) with overall, 18 foreign brands making debuts!
Debuts include world-firsts from Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, as well as European automakers – BMW, Fiat, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. The show will also include global unveiling of new designs from Asian brands, including models from Acura, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Subaru and Toyota.
Notable unveils include Mercedes-Benz’s showcasing of a rare edition SLS AMG, the Black Series, a more powerful and lighter version of its regular-edition counterpart. The list also includes Chevrolet Spark EV from GM, a through-and-through electric vehicle! . Confirmed reveals include the VW Beetle Convertible, Subaru Forester and Acura RLX, while rumored unveilings include the Lamborghini Aventador Roadser, BMW i4, Fiat 500 Abarth Cabriolet, Porsche Cayman, Kia Forte and Jaguar XFR-S.
“The auto industry in North America is experiencing its best annual sales rate since 2008, and this positive growth can clearly be seen in the number of debuts, broad range of vehicles and transformative technologies on display at the show,” said Andy Fuzesi, general manager of the LA Auto Show, in a statement.
