LG Smart TVs to Sport webOS Platform – Simple Connection, Switching and Discovery

LG is just few hours away from its press conference announcements at CES 2014, but that does not stop the company from teasing webOS platform for its future Smart Televisions. According to LG, more than 70% of the smart TVs in 2014 will be loaded with webOS interface. The webOS will feature a lovely ‘Bean Bird’ that will walk you through the setup and pairing with magic remote.  The OS is expected to feature voice search, gesture recognition and enhanced multitasking between apps and live TV.  The main feature of webOS is bundled into three main functionalities; a Simple Connection, Simple Switching and Simple Discovery.

Simple Connection

Simple Connection will help the user to configure the TV using an animated Bean Bird. The Bean Bird will assist you with various options to setup your TV.

It helps users to fast switch between the applications that were recently used. It sports an advanced multitasking capability to enable app switching without much lagging.

Simple Discovery

According to the images shown by LG, webOS seems to feature an app store, which includes Twitter, Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Vudu, Hulu Plus, Cinema Now and MLB.tv. The OS comes with a web browser, voice based controls and gesture based controls.
