Mahindra XYLO Model(Ingenio) in india for competing Toyota Innova

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that the New Mahindra XYLO Model (Ingenio) will be ready for launch in india around January 2009. Mahindra Xylo consists of CRDe diesel engine which is 2600cc producing 115bhp at 3800 RPM and 28.3 kgm of torque between 1700-2200 RPM, which is same as Mahindra scorpio. Mahindra said XYLO has been developed by a team consisting of 160 experts who have created new benchmarks in styling, technology and performance.

Mahindra Xylo is supported with four variants E2, E4, E6 and E8. Currently XYLO will be available only in diesel version.

Mahindra Xylo is from the Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV) segment, powered by 2.5 litre m-Eagle engine and a 5-speed manual transmission along with a power-assisted rack and pinion steering is standard for all variants for an easy and comfortable drive. Mahindra Xylo can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h approximately in just 7.5 seconds. It will give a mileage of around 12 to 15km/litre. All four models costs different prices in the market E2 -Rs. 6,32,500 , E4 – 6,69,500, E6 – 7,32,500 , E8 – 7,69,500. 

Mahindra Xylo will be the competitor of Toyota Innova. But compare to price ratio, Xylo is somewhat less than Innova.

  1. Why is it Mahindra always competes with Innova or some Toyota vehicle why cant they look beyond. I have been using jeeps from the petrol version then mahindra with internatiional engine /pegeout engine etc till Scopio . I found Bolero had VAST TINKERING PROBLEMS,
    Scorpio was a beautiful beast but the ride was never smooth. sometimes travelling in traffic was like travelling in a public transport bus. I want Mahindra not to TAKE ANY INDIAN VEHICLE TO COMPETE WITH BUT A REFINED FOREIGN VEHICLE BUILT FOR INDIAN CONDITIONS SHOULD BE FINE. WHAT IS SURPRISING IS THEIR CLAIM OF 6.5 YEARS JUST TO COMPETE WITH TOYOTA INNOVA THIS IS ABSURD .IN THIS MODERN DAY WHEN TECHNOLOGY IS SO MUCH ADVANCED YOU CANNOPT AFFORD MORE THAN 6 MONTHS FOR DESIGN AND ONE MONTH FOR TRIALS ORELSE YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE LAUNCH IS OBSLETE. R&D IS NO DOUBT A CONTINUOUS PROCESS BUT AIM FOR 2020 THEN ATLEAST BY 2010 YOU WILL GIVE A DECENT VEHICLE.NOT TO COMPARE BUT TO BE HELD IN AWESOMENESS AND A BENCH MARK BY ITSELF.WHICH OTHERS HAVE TO COMPETE WITH YOU MUST LEAD FROM THE FRONT NOT CHASE FROM THE BACK MR.ANAND MAHINDRA
