Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT not the “Final Edition” in the SLS series?
While on one side all sporty car-watchers, and a very few riders included are bidding their adieu to one of their most loved car: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, though rumours have been raising on the other side that the SLS-AMG will not be the last one in the SLS AMG series.
The “Sport Leicht Super” (Sport Light Super) was released in 2009 and was on road all over the world by 2011. It was released to mark the 45th Anniversary of Mercedes-AMG collaboration and was the first car built in-house by AMG. Just as no Mercedes-AMG car stays in the market for too long, the SLS GT series Limited Edition production is ready for being stopped now as per official announcements of the company. Both the SLS AMG GT Coupe and Roadster of Final Edition accelerate to a 60 mph speed in 3.6 s and 124 mph in 11.2 s and speed is limited to 197 mph electronically. The engine is of 6.3-litre capacity with 563.2bhp.
In this limited edition with only 360 units manufactured in the Final Edition, AMG has shifted to forged alloy wheels from normal wheels, and customers can choose between two color schemes: polished, high-sheen wheel faces with matte-black inlays or all matte black. Mercedes will offer optional tires developed specially for Mercedes-AMG that improve steering precision and grip, for people craving for a performance edge.
People had doubt about the presence of HVAC system in this Final Edition. But Mercedes-Benz officials have clarified the doubt and have said that there is an air-conditioning system in the car.
But one important thing which may be making you scratch your head may be the question whether this is really the final car in the SLS series. And the answer according to some sources is probably no. We can expect from Mercedes-Benz a few more models of cars in a series similar to this one or the same as well. But all we want is that all the attractive characteristics of SLS be there in the coming car also.
