Verizon and Incipio confirm the rumor of Nokia Lumia ICON
Nokia is all set to unveil its new phone called Icon. Interestingly, the model name is quite different from its usual naming system compared to three or four digit model numbers. This is the first time Nokia has used a name; this is not a mere codename which usually gets discarded after official announcements. Nokia codenames are amazing and I did really hope they’ll out the phone with the same name, but they generally don’t and that’s the one disappoints me often. Well, I may not be disappointed this time, hopefully!
The Icon is actually the Nokia Lumia 929. Verizon now confirms the phone and so does the case maker Incipio. A major number of leaks are surrounding the phone and the hype created is very high. The phone is said to be Nokia’s offering in the 5″ range.
The Lumia 1520 is a direct offering in the 6″ devices range and the 5″ device was left. So Nokia started producing the Nokia lumia 929 as it was previously known. The Nokia Lumia 929 comes with GDR3 or update 3 out of the box and with a 1080p display which means that you’ll have 6 tiles in a row- the smaller ones. There are four versions for the tiles. Very small, small, big and double sized. The first three don’t give out much detail whereas the last one offers very much every new notification or info that is happening with the app. The device costs $777 as shown in the Verizon website.
Icon comes with 32GB of in built storage which is not expandable by microSD slot. The phone comes with 2GB RAM, which is similar to the 1020 and 20.7 megapixel Pureview camera. The phone has leaked twice wearing the Incipio case.
And here are some pics of the device.
