Nokia Lumia Icon Now official! Naming not changed.
The Nokia Lumia Icon or the Lumia 929 as it was previously known was in rumour lands up till now. The Phone is a Verizon exclusive. The phone leaked several times with the Incipio case, the User Interface and so on. The case maker said that the name of the phone would be Icon and the three digit model number was not to be used and this indeed is a different naming procedure employed by Nokia.
The Lumia 929 or the Icon leaves nothing to the imagination. The phone comes with a 2 year contract and the price of the device is $199.99 and will be available from February 20. The phone is said to be shipped with Windows Phone 8 Update 3 or the GDR3 plus Lumia Black. The Phone looks similar to the 928 and it looks very much bold in comparison to the design of the other Internationally available Lumias.
The phone comes with a 5″ screen, various connectivity options like Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC 2.0, SnapDragon 800 Chipset which is clocked at 2.2GHz quad core, 2GB RAM and a non expandable 32GB in-built storage. Much of the features are similar to its 1520 sibling. The Icon comes with a 20.7MP camera with PureView Technology that can capture full resolution photos and can be down scaled to 5MP.
The phone can also capture 1080p videosĀ at 30fps. There are dual LED flash present at the top of the camera. There is a microUSB port in the bottom, volume rocker keys in the right of the device below which is the power button. There are three capacitive buttons in the front below the display (Back, Home and search). The device measures about 137x71x9.8 mm and the weight is 167g. The phone also comes with a BSI sensore, f/2.4 aperture lens and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). Be sure to check the device when it hit the shelves this 20th. Here are some pics.
