Youtube, the gaint in video sharing said that, it is planning to provide downloadable videos soon. Certain videos can be downloaded and accordingly you will be charged for it. Most of youtube users wants to download their favroite videos and most of the video creators don’t mind sharing their work. So this puts up the concept for youtube to allow certain videos to be downloadble for a certain price.

YouTube Product Manager Thai Than wrote that users have wanted to see their favorite videos offline. As a result, he said, YouTube is now working with several partner companies “who want their videos shared universally and even enjoyed away from an Internet connection.”

Youtube also testing an option in which video owners can choose if their work can be downloaded for free or with a small fee that will be handled by Google Checkout.

Downloads are available in various licenses, including the famous creative commons licence. Creative commons is an non-profit organization that allows for protected work to be shared and re-used, but consistent with copyright.

The video creator can also offer his work under Public Domain, in which there is no copyright protection at all.
