Microsoft to replace your old hardware with new Azure PCs!
The Windows Azure Conference was recently held here in Bangalore. Our team did a live coverage of the event. The Azure is Microsoft’s first Windows with Cloud Computing in mind. The future holds more. But, all this comes at a cost. It should cost a few hundred dollars for getting all that space and working in the cloud. If you think like this, then you are wrong. Microsoft will replace your old hardware for free if you upgrade to the Azure platform.
Microsoft is doing the service of replacing your old hardware if you decide to go for the Azure platform with the ability of Cloud computing as its main core. Azure is in the market for quite sometime and but only now it is gaining popularity. It came with a 30 day trial but that was not quite enough, as after that the Windows would shut down after 1 hour for the first time and regularly restart after every two hours.
In the case of exchange, you get a full version of the OS. It is an initiative to woo small and medium businesses. Currently, Mumbai based JustDispose gets the value of existing hardware and is also a recycler of e-products. Based on the existing value of the hardware, you can get the Azure platform if you give the rest of the money. The Azure platform helps in keeping a PaaS type of view rather than the traditional IaaS type of view. Let me explain each one of the terms.
PaaS or Platform as a Service is a model of service in which the cloud service provides a computing platform and a stack provides a service, whereas in IaaS, you run services on virtual machines rather than on physical machines. IaaS uses large bits of data compared to PaaS which uses relatively smaller bits of Data. Give your old hardware up now at any Microsoft outlet and get an opportunity to get your hands on the new Azure.
