Satechi Smart Travel Router can be the best gadget to carry when you travel!

Recently, I was travelling in a train and got home-sick. Why? Because there was no Wi-Fi!  Sure, I had mobile internet, but it kept draining my battery and it just didn’t feel all that great to keep using it for a long duration of time. A person sitting next to me was as comfortable as he would be at his home. He was using this ultimately cool gadget called the Satechi Smart Travel Router.

Travel router?! What am I even talking about! I know the name of the product has fueled your imagination wildly. But I’m pretty sure that you have guessed that it’s a cool device for travel purpose that provides the feature of a router.

Now to get to the specifics: It is a two in one device. The first is that it is a travel adapter. The second is that it is also a router.

The adapter works in around 150 countries. It possesses a 2.1A USB port. The latter usage being a router operates in four modes:

Router

Yes, router is what you are typically acquainted with. It does the function of connecting you to the internet provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). And then it broadcasts a wireless signal thereby allowing you to establish your own network. This is by far the most used application of this device.

Repeater

Repeaters do not fabricate a network by themselves. Rather, they connect to an already established network and amplify the network. Once you amplify the network, you can extend the range of your wireless network. But in case the receiving signal is too weak, the repeater is helpless in such cases. Anyhow, it is a useful feature.

Access Point

Suppose you have an Ethernet Port, access points are useful. If an Ethernet cable is available, you can create a wireless connection from this wired source. I wonder how and where from you’d get this Ethernet wire during travel, but in any case, there’s no harm in hoping for such a provision! So, once you have your Ethernet cable, you can broadcast the wireless network that this access point creates and let your other devices connect to it.

Client

Finally, you can use this device as a client. You can connect to some device, for instance a Smart TV or gaming console via an Ethernet cable. Now, your device can be used as a wireless adapter, enabling the connected device to connect to the internet wirelessly.

How cool is that? You already have one? Or hoping to get one now? Pop-up your thoughts!
