Sony Launches Xperia Z1 Compact at CES 2014 – Hands-on, Review
In CES 2013, Sony announced Xperia Z, which was one of the best phone of the year 2013 and later, the company released Xperia Z1 during IFA. In CES 2014, Sony announced Xperia Z1 compact; Oh is it Xperia Z1 mini? Well, don’t call it as mini, because Z1 compact is almost identical to the original Z1 with quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 20 megapixel camera and the famous waterproof design, says Sony. So what about the display? And that’s where the change is, Z1 compact will sport 4.3 inch compact display screen.
Sony Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact
As I told earlier, Z1 compact will come with 4.3 inch display screen with 1080p to 720p resolution. Another difference is the battery, where Z1 features 2,300mAh cell compared to 3,000mAh battery in original version. Of course, the smaller screen may not require 3,000mAh battery.

The Design
The model comes in Black and White colors for the monochrome lovers, and there is a hot pink hue and lime (yellowish) versions as well.
Overall, the compact version was lot easier to handle; especially while making calls. The speed was comparable to Z1, as it is powered by the same processor and the camera snap was impressive. At the end of CES, you can expect Sony’s Z1 compact to be named as the best stand out product.
