Sony unveils NWZ-W250 water resistant walkman
Without any fanfare whatsoever, Sony has just unveiled a new water resistant, wearable Walkman in the NWZ-250. This version comes in both 2GB and 4GB models and is said to deliver up to 11 hours of battery life.
It weighs only 43 grams and will be available in black, silver, lime green, and magenta. You’ll be able to get one later this month for just $60 if you dig the heart shape. This is the first wire-free MP3 player from Sony that resists rain splashes or the sweat of a gruelling gym session. After exercising, just rinse under the tap – or you can even keep listening to your Walkman during a post-workout shower.
The wire-free, display-less design doesn’t hamper the creation of playlists either. After creating your playlist in advance, simply press the jog lever and skip to the next folder, selecting a different artist or album to change the mood instantly. Of course, Sony’s ‘Zappin’ technology also helps in checking stored tracks to skip to the one you want, without relying on a display.
