World’s Smallest Linux Computer – PICOTUX
Picotux 100 is the world’s smallest Linux computer. Its CPU has a 32-bit ARM7 running at 55 MHz, 8 MB of SDRAM and the basic version comes with 2 MB flash memory and Ethernet support. Application like web server, telnet will be run on this computer. GCC for c/c++ and fortran compilers are included in this OS.
Picotux is somewhat larger than an RJ45 connector. Its size is almost 35 mm × 19 mm × 19 mm. Picotux operating system is distributed for microcontroller called uClinux2.4.27 which will follow Big Endian byte order format. Main shell that Picotux is using is Busy Box. Two communication interfaces are provided, 10/100 Mbit half duplex or full duplex, auto sensing.
The supply voltage required for running for Picotux is 3,3 Volt ± 5% and a supply current of 250 mA. Picotux supports for File Systems like CRAMFS, JFFS2, NFS. The size required for for OS is 780KB.
