According to FCC, there are about 30 million Americans (1 in 6 mobile users) experienced a bill shock. Out of 764 complaints received during first half of 2010, about 20% were for $1,000 or more ! And the largest complaint was a bill for $68,505 !

It also provides information about the data usage based on things we do on smartphone like Sending e-mail, music streaming, browsing, posting on social media, YouTube streaming etc., and also the PAY-PER-USE MB data costs by different carriers.

It also recommends travelers with few handy apps for keeping costs down. A few apps are skype for calling, WhatsApp for messaging, etc.,
