DataWind launches the cheapest Android tablet in India – Aakash 2
It was not long ago India had the cheapest Android tablet in the world. Now its time for the next version of the same – Aakash 2 tablet, launched in India by the UK based company Datawind. An android device that features 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with 512 MB RAM and with a memory up to 32GB will be sold at price of Rs. 3,500 ($64). The tablet is sold under the student scheme, for which the government will pay the subsidies of Rs 1,130 ($21).
The tablet comes with a 7-inch display (800×480 pixel resolution), which is not the great, but worth the money. The tablet runs Android 4.0, which is an improved version of the original Aakash which was launched a year ago.
