Aakash 3 Tablet might feature SIM slot, web cam and audio notes
The cheapest tablet in the world Aakash 3 is expected to feature SIM card slot, a web cam, ability to take audio notes – all within existing price tag. According to the reports, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay are developing these features and extra apps for the next generation cheapest tablet. About 50 lakh of Aakash 3 tablet to be manufactured during the first phase in February 2013. Aakash 3 was aimed at fixing the bugs seen in the previous versions of the Aakash and to add extra apps and SIM card slot.
The tablet will be released for school students in India for Rs. 2263 – which is about $44 and the other one with extra features for college students.

“Our aim is to imbibe the usage of tablets in the education system and create an ecosystem for this. We have distributed Aakash tablets to 250 colleges across the country and asked them to come up with newer ways to use the device,” said Deepak B Phatak, says the committee member and a professor in IIT- Bombay’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
