Sailfish OS now available on your Nokia N9 – Unofficially
Sailfish OS is an OS that was created by Jolla and is a successor to the very short lived MeeGo. The Jolla phone went on sale in Finland and was sold out quickly as only 450 units were present and it was delivered to the customers who have ordered the phone long back.
Nokia N9 is a phone which had a rather great fate (sorry for the sarcasm). The N9 came with a 3.9″ screen and a resolution of 400×854 pixels which leads to a pixel density of 251 ppi. The phone is full gesture based and includes no capacitive or hardware buttons below the screen and was one of a kind, a true touchscreen device. The secondary camera is present in the right hand bottom of the device. Unique right? The primary is a 8MP shooter and there is a second camera present as well which could record videos in 720p. The inbuilt storage is around 16GB or 64GB with no card slot for expanding. There is 1GB of RAM on board. Now, for all you N9 owners out there who have stayed loyal to your phone and not thrown it outside. Your phone is unofficially upgradeable to Sailfish OS on which the community is working on. As it is not official, expect a few bugs in the OS and features not working are also to be expected. This is not a stable build and is not suited for every day use. Be sure to use and flash it at your own risk.

Jolla has promised a global rollout in around 135 countries and also side loading in Android. Be sure to check out this site to stay up-to-date.
